Profit Growth Prediction Model Using Financial Ratios in Non-Cyclical Consumer Companies

This study aims to examine the effect of Net Profit Margin (NPM), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Sales Growth (SG), Total Asset Turnover (TATO), and Current Ratio (CR) on profit growth in consumer non-cyclicals companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024. This study used a quantitative approach with panel data regression analysis using EViews 12 and purposive sampling technique. The total sample consisted of 39 companies with 195 observations. The results showed that Debt to Equity Ratio had a negative and significant effect on profit growth. Meanwhile, Net Profit Margin, Sales Growth, Total Asset Turnover, and Current Ratio had no significant effect on profit growth. These findings indicate that profit growth is more influenced by the company’s capital structure management than profitability, liquidity, sales growth, and asset turnover factors. In the perspective of signaling theory, financial information related to debt levels can provide signals to investors regarding the company’s future profit prospects.
