The JHNS aims to support evidence-informed policy and practice by publishing research, systematic and other scholarly reviews, critical discussion, and commentary of the highest standard. The journal has been publishing original peer-reviewed articles of interest to the health care community since 2014, as mentioned in the Journal History.

The JHNS has now been indexed in Scopus and is also accredited by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA) Board of Indonesia. The journal received support from several institutions, including Elsevier and various institutions

Before submitting the manuscript, please read carefully the aims and scope, author guidelines, and manuscript template, then follow the submissions. Submissions that do not adhere to the guidelines will be returned to the author. If a submission does not follow the guidelines and falls outside the aims and scope of JHNS, it may be rejected at the initial assessment. Due to growing concerns about AI-related issues, the journal implemented an AI policy that authors are encouraged to read before submitting the manuscript.
