This study explores the unpreparedness of Indonesian madrasah teachers in adapting to the ongoing digitalization of religious education. Using a grounded qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The findings reveal that teachers struggle to adapt to digital-based religious instruction, primarily due to difficulties operating technological tools. This unpreparedness is further exacerbated by limited technological infrastructure and low levels of digital literacy among teachers. As a result, the effectiveness of religious education is hindered, and instructional time is often used inefficiently. The study underscores the urgent need to improve technological infrastructure and enhance teachers’ digital competencies to better support the digital transformation of education in Indonesia.
2025-06-30T15:21:02+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unimma.ac.id/index.php/tarbiyatuna/article/view/13135The Effectiveness of the MBKM-Aligned Research-Based Learning Model in Enhancing Students’ Problem-Solving Skills2025-06-30T15:45:51+00:00Aida Rahmi Nasution[email protected]Ratnawati Ratnawati[email protected]Tika Meldina[email protected]Wezi Yonita[email protected]
This study investigates the effectiveness of the MBKM-based Research-Based Learning (RBL) model in enhancing students’ problem-solving skills in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) science instruction. The RBL model engages students in research-oriented activities to foster critical, analytical, collaborative, and innovative thinking. The study involved 58 students from the PGMI Study Program using a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group. One experimental and one control class were used, with data collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The objectives were to assess: (1) students’ problem-solving abilities prior to the implementation of the RBL model, and (2) the model’s effectiveness following its application. Data analysis included validity and reliability checks, tests of normality and homogeneity, and hypothesis testing using one-way ANOVA. Prior to the intervention, average problem-solving scores were comparable between the experimental (44.14) and control groups (44.83), indicating baseline equivalence. After implementing the RBL model, one-way ANOVA results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group’s problem-solving skills (F = 55.238, p < 0.001), indicating a positive effect of the intervention. Despite its promising results, the study is limited by its small sample size, short duration, and specific focus on MI science content within the PGMI program, which may limit broader generalizability. Nonetheless, the findings support the effectiveness of the MBKM-aligned RBL model in improving students’ problem-solving skills.
2025-06-30T15:06:39+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unimma.ac.id/index.php/tarbiyatuna/article/view/13236Cultural Negotiation in Childcare among Inter-Ethnic Muslim Couples in Magelang Regency2025-06-30T15:45:51+00:00Lilis Madyawati[email protected]Nurjannah Nurjannah[email protected]Hibana Hibana[email protected]
Inter-ethnic marriage influences parenting practices, particularly in multicultural societies like Indonesia. This study analyzes how cultural negotiation shapes parenting among inter-ethnic Muslim couples specifically between Javanese and non-Javanese partners in Borobudur District, Magelang Regency. Using an intrinsic case study approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to explore how these couples develop parenting strategies that integrate local cultural values with Islamic educational principles. Findings reveal that cultural negotiation occurs through two main strategies: compromise and consensus. These processes are shaped by childhood experiences, gender-based power dynamics, and extended family solidarity. The negotiations result in diverse parenting styles, including authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive approaches. This study highlights parenting as a social practice formed through the interplay of cultural dominance and collective solidarity. Theoretically, it contributes to the literature on cross-cultural parenting in Muslim families and offers insights for developing inclusive family education policies in multicultural contexts.
2025-06-30T15:30:12+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unimma.ac.id/index.php/tarbiyatuna/article/view/12723The Effectiveness of Quizizz as an Evaluation Tool in Fiqh Learning to Enhance Student Motivation2025-06-30T15:45:52+00:00Kurnia Nur Aliffia[email protected]Raharjo Raharjo[email protected]Oseolla Savana[email protected]
Low student motivation remains a significant challenge in Islamic education, particularly in subjects that are often perceived as theoretical, such as Fiqh. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Quizizz interactive media as an evaluation tool to enhance students’ learning motivation in Fiqh learning. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach involving 60 eighth-grade students from MTs Al-Musyaffa’, divided into an experimental group using Quizizz and a control group using conventional methods. Data were collected using a validated motivation questionnaire and analyzed through independent sample t-tests. The results showed a significant difference in learning motivation between the two groups. The experimental group achieved a higher average motivation score (M = 57.78) compared to the control group (M = 48.28), with a t-value of 5.852 (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that Quizizz is effective in improving students’ motivation by creating a more engaging, interactive, and competitive learning atmosphere. The gamified features of Quizizz, such as real-time feedback, scoring, and leaderboards, encourage students to actively participate in the evaluation process and enhance their enthusiasm for learning. In conclusion, the integration of Quizizz in Fiqh learning evaluation contributes positively to students’ motivation and can serve as an innovative approach to support digital-based Islamic education.
2025-06-30T15:33:03+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unimma.ac.id/index.php/tarbiyatuna/article/view/13882The Development of the IPAER Learning Model for Improving Critical Thinking Skills in Elementary Education2025-07-01T10:18:40+00:00Nasyariah Siregar[email protected]Syahrial Syahrial[email protected]Sofyan Zaibaski[email protected]Bunga Ayu Wulandari[email protected]
Critical thinking has become a key focus in modern education as a response to contemporary challenges. However, field observations show that students’ ability to recognize and evaluate IPAS (Science and Social Sciences Integration) content remains relatively low, indicating underdeveloped critical thinking skills. These skills can be nurtured through effective classroom instruction. In reality, many existing learning models fail to fully accommodate students’ cognitive needs. To address this gap, this study aims to develop the IPAER learning model. Employing the ADDIE research and development framework consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation this study collected data through observations, interviews, response questionnaires, and critical thinking tests. The findings indicate that the IPAER model is highly valid, with validation scores of 90.25% for content, 92.22% for language, 93.68% for instructional design, and 94.61% for educational technology. The model also demonstrated high practicality, with a score of 94%. Its effectiveness was evidenced by significant improvements in students’ critical thinking skills, as shown by a t-test result of p < 0.001 and high N-gain scores of 0.7604 (limited trial) and 0.7638 (large-scale trial). These results contribute to the advancement of innovative learning models that foster higher-order thinking in elementary education.
2025-06-30T15:02:35+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unimma.ac.id/index.php/tarbiyatuna/article/view/12964The Role of Teachers in Moral Education through the Habitus Model2025-06-30T15:45:52+00:00Katni Katni[email protected]Erinda Setya Pramesty[email protected]Muh Tajab[email protected]
Moral crises continue to affect both educational and governmental institutions in Indonesia, undermining students’ moral development and damaging institutional reputations. In contrast, teachers at State Vocational High School 2 Pacitan have played a significant role in fostering commendable moral values, thereby reducing instances of immoral behavior. This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in moral education and identify the steps involved in promoting commendable character at the school. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, involving interviews with the principal, vice principal, and students, as well as observations and document analysis. Data were analyzed through description, classification, interpretation, and theorization. The findings highlight that teacher act as facilitators, motivators, and role models by integrating knowledge, practice, habituation, advice, motivation, personal guidance, and religious activities. These practices were conceptualized into a “habitus model” of moral education, derived from Pierre Bourdieu’s sociological theory of habitus. This model emphasizes the formation of moral dispositions through consistent experience and interaction within the school environment. Key aspects include fostering value awareness, shaping behavioral dispositions, and promoting consistent moral practice. The model is operationalized through the 5M steps: knowing the good, habituating the good, loving the good, desiring the good, and doing the good.
2025-06-30T15:24:32+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##https://journal.unimma.ac.id/index.php/tarbiyatuna/article/view/13723Educational Transformation in the Muhammadiyah Renewal Movement: Continuity of 21st Century Education2025-07-01T16:03:53+00:00Atabik Luthfi[email protected]Dede Rosyada[email protected]Fery Rahmawan[email protected]Ahmad Mujib[email protected]Hasan Özalp[email protected]
This study aims to explore the transformation of education within the framework of the Muhammadiyah renewal movement and its relevance in addressing the challenges of 21st-century education. Despite advancements in educational technology, many students still face difficulties in utilizing digital tools effectively. As a modernist Islamic movement, Muhammadiyah has long contributed to the development of Indonesia’s education system through a progressive and responsive approach to contemporary issues. Guided by the principle of tajdid (renewal), Muhammadiyah continues to innovate in curriculum design, teaching methods, the integration of Islamic values, and the use of technology in learning. This qualitative case study was conducted at SMA Muhammadiyah 14 Central Jakarta, focusing on 36 tenth-grade students. The evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in students’ cognitive and digital skills. Approximately 82% of students demonstrated increased competence in using various digital learning applications such as Google Classroom and Canva. The findings highlight both challenges and opportunities in educational transformation and propose a comprehensive, collaborative, and sustainable strategy. This includes strengthening human resources, enhancing infrastructure, and developing relevant curricula aligned with Muhammadiyah’s renewal principles.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##
