Abstract

Temulawak extract contain chemical compound starch protein by 29-30 percent, curcumin one to two percent and essential oils between 6 to 10 percent. Curcumin serves as an an anti- inflammatory that plays an important role int the pathophysiology of depressive diseases. Antidepressant effect test is performed on male white rats divided into 5 treament groups. The first group is given aquadest as a negative control, Second group was given amitriptilin as a positive control, third group was given the extract of temulawak with dose 245 mg/KgBB, four group was given the extract of temulawak with dose 490 mg/KgBB and five group was given the extract of temulawak with dose 245 mg/KgBB then the mice in the swim to create stress Immobility time dengan metode forced swim test.
