Introduction

Borobudur Educational Review (BEDR) is a fully open-access journal. All articles are free to read, download, and share without any charge to readers. To sustain the journal, the costs of peer review management, editing, production, online hosting, DOI registration, and long-term archiving are covered through an Article Processing Charge (APC) paid by authors, their institutions, or funders for each article accepted for publication.

Article Submission Charges

There are no charges for submitting a manuscript or for the peer review process.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Every article accepted for publication in BEDR is subject to an Article Processing Charge of IDR 750,000. This rate applies to manuscripts submitted on or after 1 December 2026. Manuscripts submitted before that date remain subject to the rate in effect at the time of submission.

• The APC is billed only after the manuscript has been formally accepted and the Letter of Acceptance has been issued. No payment is requested before acceptance.
• Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions or the peer review process. Editors and reviewers are not informed of authors' ability to pay.
• The submitting author is responsible for arranging payment, and confirms at the time of submission that the APC will be settled if the article is accepted.
• Authors are encouraged to consider their funding options before submitting, not after acceptance.
• If you are asked to pay any fee in the name of BEDR before your manuscript has been accepted, please do not pay and report it to the editorial office.

Waiver Policy

Authors who do not have sufficient funds may request a full or partial waiver by sending an official letter signed by the author and the head of their research institute or the dean. Waiver requests are handled by the publisher's administration, separately from the editorial process, and have no effect on the review outcome.
