Abstract

This study examines the effect of board involvement including the board of directors and the board of commissioners and company age on financial performance in family companies. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis and uses secondary data in the form of financial reports of family manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2019-2023 period. The involvement of the family board of commissioners and board of directors is measured using the percentage of family involvement in the company, the age of the company uses the number of years since the company was listed on the stock exchange, while the company's financial performance is measured using Return On Assets. The results showed that the composition of the family board of commissioners had a negative effect on improving company performance. The results of this study are not linear with the socioemotional Wealth Theory view. The age of the company has a positive effect on the financial performance of family manufacturing companies.
