Abstract
Vulnerable groups experience a higher degree of problems, compared to other factions. A typical example involves the limited access to medical care and other support services. Therefore, the role of health workers in this context appears very essential. The Institute of Health Science (STIKES), Mitra Keluarga, conducted an evidence-based community service training for 206 nurses. This study was aimed at increasing the awareness of nurses as spearheads of primary healthcare, particularly on issues faced by vulnerable groups, and the results showed a significant improvement. Furthermore, the ongoing process served as an important effort in supporting these groups during the pandemic and the role of government in creating sustainability is also among the main influencing factors.
