This Copyright Notice outlines the terms under which articles are published in IHS, emphasizing author copyright retention and the Creative Commons license that governs the use of published works. We aim to protect the rights of authors along with ensuring that their research can be freely accessed, shared, and built upon by the global health innovation community and practice.

Copyright ownership

Authors who publish their articles in IHS retain full copyright of their work. IHS does not require authors to transfer their copyright to the journal or Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang as the publisher. The authors grant IHS a license for the first publication.

Publishing license and user rights

1) All articles published in IHS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC-BY-NC 4.0) License.

2) This license enables reusers to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format for noncommercial purposes only, and only so long as attribution is given to the creator. CC BY-NC includes the following elements:

BY: credit must be given to the creator.
NC: Only noncommercial uses of the work are permitted.

3) Under the following terms:

  1. Attribution — Authors must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. Authors may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
  2. NonCommercial — Authors may not use the material for commercial purposes.
  3. No additional restrictions — Authors may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.

4) You do not have to comply with the license for elements of the material in the public domain or where an applicable exception or limitation permits your use.

Authors' rights for reuse of their work

As copyright holders, authors have rights to reuse their health innovation work published in IHS, subject to proper acknowledgment of the original publication in IHS (including a full citation and DOI link) and the terms of the CC BY-NC 4.0 license.

Copyright of peer review reports

Peer reviewers who provide reports for manuscripts submitted to IHS retain copyright of their review reports. IHS maintains the confidentiality of the peer review process. Review reports are shared with authors in an anonymized format for manuscript improvement. IHS will not publish or otherwise share reviewer reports without the explicit permission of reviewers.

Due to the authors retaining copyright, IHS is committed to protecting authors' rights and will endeavor to address any instances of plagiarism or copyright infringement concerning articles published in the IHS, in line with its ethical policies and COPE guidelines.
